The Boy Who Lost Half Of His Skull Was Born Miraculously Alive

Jaxon is the son of Brittany, 27, and Brandon Buell, 30. The whole family currently lives in Tavares, Florida, USA. Before giving birth to Jaxon, the boy’s family was informed that the fetus had Microhydranencephaly – a condition that caused the patient to lose half of his skull at birth. The sad thing is that most people who get this disease die after birth.

Jaxon’s father said: ‘When the fetus was 17 weeks old, my wife went for an ultrasound and was told by the doctor that she had Microhydranencephaly. The doctor advised us to prepare mentally because the baby may not survive even while still in the mother’s womb. Even when the fetus was at 23 weeks, the doctor advised my wife to abort the baby. We thought a lot and decided to keep Jaxon.”

Jaxon was born with half his skull missing, but miraculously survived

Finally, the miracle happened when baby Jaxon was born safely. And the next miracle is that the baby has now lived for more than 1 year in a healthy state. Jaxon was born on August 27, 2014, when he weighed 1.8kg.

A doctor at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said: ‘The percentage of babies born with Microhydranencephaly is 1 in 4859 people. Babies with this disease often die shortly after birth. But Jaxon is the exception’.

Currently, Jaxon has been built by his parents for a fanpage. Up to now, this fanpage has attracted more than 90,000 likes.
