Aliya Saleem was born with a weight of 9 pounds (4 kg) and by the fourth month, her weight started to increase “dizzy”. By 10 months old, Aliya Saleem was the average weight of a 6-year-old baby.
The baby’s mother, Shabana, 25, told The Sun: ‘We have to buy clothes for her every two weeks because our daughter’s clothes are too tight.
Shabana and her husband Mohammad Saleem, 28, are very worried about their daughter’s weight problem. They have also lost a child before because of weight problems.
Aliya Saleem’s parents earn only 3 pounds (about 100 thousand dong) a day from sewing jobs. Therefore, they do not have enough money to treat the girl’s illness.
Mohammad Saleem said : “We tried to do the best for our daughter. But we were only qualified to take her to the local hospital. However, the local doctors could not tell. the condition my daughter has. The doctor advised us to take Aliya to the city hospital but we have no money.”
Mohammad Saleem and his wife took their daughter to Fortis Hospital on the outskirts of Delhi in an attempt to lose weight for Aliya.
Dr Krishan Chugh, chief of pediatrics at Fortis, said: “This is the heaviest ten-month-old baby I have ever seen. This could be the case for obesity or even a hormonal imbalance. “.
